one more thing popped into my feeble, Neanderthal brain. A big mouse nest in the exhaust pipe might act this way...kinda a long shot, but you should be able to feel a pretty unrestricted flow of exhaust gas from the pipe, even at idle.
75 SnoJet Astro SS, 79 Kawasaki Invader 440 (two of them), 81 Scorpion Sidewinder, 82 Blizzard 9500, 83 Yamaha Vmax 540, 97 MXZ 670....and holding...for now.

I'll have to observe close when I mess with it next.  Been running it without a belt currently.

if the fuel bowl  levels look ok try choking one carb at a time;one cyl lean or both....if it idles do the same;are both cyls 'pulling their weight'  and a new set of plugs 1st thing...

Put new plugs in... didn't help... cant get it to even start now.... had a buddy of mine take then to the skidoo dealer he works at... He was gonna boil the carbs in soapy water so they are like brand new

Ran a compression test. 140 on mag side and about 133 on pto side.  Held the pressure for over a minute.  Took 4 pulls to reach these pressures as well

remember, Intruder carbs are different (jetting) on mag/PTO sides  Idle should be set at 3,000.. A worn belt can also cause bogging, as well as carbs being unbalanced

Put in new plugs and cannot get it to start now.  Sounds like ignition system, sounds like fuel delivery, is not compression problem.

Luke check the ignition system.  You have great compression.  Check the ignition system.

Do you have spark?

Hang in there.

Got it running after getting carbs back from cleaning...  takes a few pulls to get running. Idles well but still has low end bog. Doesn't die at all.  Bog clears out through midrange and at WOT. New plugs in.. belt removed while running on a stand off the ground

Did you check/adjust your air screw position (like I suggested?)  Also, try raising the clip position on your needles "one position" (lean) and see if this helps...

I'm using blue marble oil. Not mixing oil in gas but I did put a small amount down cylinder as I was bleeding oil injection system sled has had long running time since then.. I tried adjusting those air screws as u said and never heard idle change when I was to 3 full turns out.  Put back to 1 and 1/2 turns out.  Will try other suggestions tomorrow

Just did 81 Intruder, sounds like same problem. But I had no headlight or taillight. Chased it back to ground wire. Put ground wire from taillight to tunnel. All problems went away. Including bogging issue. Ignition troubleshooting, loose ground connection will cause intermittent spark. And other problems. My 2 cents. Good luck.

I don't have a spark issue.  I have an in line tester that lights up.  Works really well.   All my lights work as well. But I will move my ground and see what happens

Does this sled still have the enricher hooked up, they can suck air and cause problems.  Did the gas tank get cleaned and are there no kinks in the gas line??
