Hyfax
« on: September 14, 2015, 12:35:51 AM »
Anyone know where I can get a set of hyfax that will actually fit on my 79 Invader. Bought some on eBay that were supposed to be right- weren't the right length or profile. I then bought some from Dennis Kirk, and they were the right length and profile, but the "T" part that slides into the rail was way too thick. I could only get them to go about six inches, then the plastic that they were shaving off caused them to stop. I'm getting kinda frustrated, hope someone can help.

I have ordered several sets from Dennis Kirk without issue.  Check to make sure the rails aren't bent a little causing an issue.  Otherwise I would suggest calling Dennis Kirk and letting them know you are having a problem.  They are a great company and I'm sure they would do what they can to make it right.

I too have bought from DK and had good results.  Check to make sure that there are no sharp edges on the end of the aluminum rail and nothing blocking the channel.  They should slide easily up to the bend and then just take a little hammering.  I also use some WD-40 to lube the channel before inserting the hyfax.
