Invader 340 crankshaft rebuild
« on: December 12, 2015, 01:05:52 PM »
Does anybody know how the Crankshafts come apart on the 340 invader? Are they a pressed pin that holds the rods or is it splined? The bottom berring has went out on the mag side on the rod. Please help!! Thanks

I don't remember specifically but I have some that are separated down in the barn.  If I can get out there this afternoon I will take a few photos.

Here are the photos.  Hope this helps.  You will see that this is an Intruder crank, but with the exception of the shields it is the same as the Invader crank.

They are pressed together and aligned.  I have replaced outer crank bearings myself but won't attempt anything else.  You can send it to crankshaft services.com, they are familiar with these Kawi cranks.  But Invader cranks are very common, you'd probably be better off picking up a good used one.

Thanks for the info!! I might send the crank in or try to find a good used one. It's around 350.00 to have somebody rebuild one!!
