Clutch puller thread size for 1979 Drifter 340
« on: February 21, 2016, 05:27:08 PM »
I finally pulled the engine to change the crank seals which have gone unattended since I've owned the sled.  Last year I bought a used clutch puller that was advertised for my sled but it simply does not fit.  The part number on the bag is 11-1146 and the threads are way too big.  Anyone know the thread sizes for the clutch puller as I suspect the bag is correct but the puller is not.

Thanks in advance!  Steve D

 I think.....not positive.....Arctic Hex clutches used a puller with 9/16 X 18 thread.
75 SnoJet Astro SS, 79 Kawasaki Invader 440 (two of them), 81 Scorpion Sidewinder, 82 Blizzard 9500, 83 Yamaha Vmax 540, 97 MXZ 670....and holding...for now.

Thanks Rminier, is that the same size as the spark plug threads?  I feel I can thread the plug in a couple of turns, but afraid I may mess up the threads if not the right size.

They are really close, but I think spark plugs are 14 mm.
