Polaris P85 Clutch on an Invader
« on: January 01, 2018, 03:47:04 PM »
I've seen a few posts here and there that people have swapped in a P85 clutch.  Can anyone confirm if it will fit and what would need to be done?

I have P85 that was cut for a Ski-Doo crank taper.  Is the Kawasaki taper the same as Ski Doo or do I need an uncut P85?

I have put a p85 on a Liquifire. I had to have the back of the stationary sheave machined down a little bit for clearance on  the mounting bolts. The Polaris taper is the same as the Kawasaki taper. It worked well.  There are different back spacings on P85. Seems to me one off a triple needs less machined off. One from an electric start Polaris needs lots machined off.

Thanks.     The other 2 things I've seen as that a wider belt is needed as well as a longer clutch bolt.  Did you find that to be true>
