I think another carb got the best of me
« on: April 10, 2019, 08:35:29 PM »
Any options here. I have a carb that is fairy clean and the only thing clogged was the small angled second opening for the pilot circuit. I was trying all day to clear it and ended up breaking a sewing needle in it. Can I drill this out or am I hosed. I swear I have no flipping clue what is clogging this but it was packed to begin with. This is from a Mikuni VM30 I was working on.

Needles are extremely hard, you won't be able to drill it.  Your only options are to push it out from the other side, or if any of it is protruding you can pull it with needle nose pliers.  You might also be able to heat it with some map gas, the aluminum will expand more than the steel needle and it might just fall out.  Good luck!
