#438- could be 436 as the tag is poorly stamped.  $1000.00 and needs some things.

Geez.....why wouldn't the seller give it a quick bath at least before selling??
It looks like an extended Polaris rear skid???
I would love an Interceptor someday....most of us on here would...
Did you talk to the seller to find out the VIN # ?

It is 438 and I have been asked a few questions by someone who is going to check it out today.  It will be an interesting story as now there are 2 long track Interceptors.  Boomers and this one.

From the guy who looked at the sled.

He swapped the Keihn carbs for Mikunis. Modified the skis with some kind of aftermarket kit that supposedly made it handle better, back in the day. Painted the hood. No decals. Extended tunnel. 136 Polaris running gear. Holes in the belly pan. Torn seat, I don’t think I can save it. What do you think?

Of course you can save it!!   8) 8)
Go for it!

Is the engine not seized or blown up?

(I wondered about the ski shocks in the picture....looks like some kind of coil spring??? Don't remember reading about any aftermarket kit available like that back in the day)

More of the report.

Tunnel was modified. An extension from a different sled is bolted/riveted on. He drilled a hole for a bolt from the skid right through the serial number stamp, but it is 000438. Top end of the motor is apart. It had burned down from running lean, rings are welded to the pistons. Pistons and jugs a severely scored. It’s hard to tell but the bottom end looks OK. Head looks OK. Instrument cluster is in tact, plastic good. Temp gauge looks aftermarket.

I made a handshake deal with him, but might have to bail. Got a 78 Intruder project and a 76 SST SNOJET on the go and the wife is pissed that she lost her spot in the garage.

I actually have two interceptors that have been tunneled with extended paddle tracks. They work great compared to stock track and flat running boards.
