Spare Parts Available
« on: May 10, 2020, 10:39:38 AM »
Ladies and Gentlemen  of  Team Kawasakitrax, good morning and Happy Mother's Day.

For the past 20 years we have had the advantage of a storage building on the neighboring farm owned by a relative.  There is now the very real possibility that the farm will be sold and that I will need to find a new home for the Kawasaki sleds and parts that we have acquired in this time period.  I cannot say that there is anything too valuable there except perhaps for the many wonderful memories.  I expect to keep some of the running sleds and enough spare parts to keep them going.  Some more of  the runners will be farmed out to our children.  This however still leaves a few running sleds and boatload of other used sled chassis and parts that are too numerous to count, have never been inventoried, and are far more than I will ever be able to use.  Actually, one of the interesting and exciting things is to be rummaging through the collection looking for one thing and then finding another gem that I didn't remember was there.

To ward off any false expectations, I will say that there are no Interceptors,  almost no LTD parts, and only one Drifter.  Predominantly, the parts are 1978 and 1979 Intruder and Invader.  And again, all parts are used, and in some cases perhaps more appropriately characterized as abused.  Most of  the sleds that have come in  have been pretty rough.

I am not in a rush, and would very much prefer to load up someone's truck once rather than sift through the barn for a single small part.  So  no promises here, but if you are looking for a boatload of extra parts this may be the opportunity of a lifetime.

Doug, I will have to think about that one, quite a lot of time and money went into bringing that one back to life.

Mark, does this mean you are getting out of Kawasaki snowmobiles completely?

Not at all.  It is just the unfortunate reality that I need to clear the clutter.  I think that there are 4 or 5 project sleds that I will likely never get to, along with the left over parts of a dozen or so other sleds - and all this on top of the 8 or 9 or 10 running sleds that I seem to have lost count of.  The building is 24' x 60' and except for the jet skis, some mower parts, and a 4 bottom plow, it is completely dedicated to storing the sleds and the spare sled parts.  And this does not include the two sleds and multiple sled parts that are currently in my garage at the house.

Whew!  Glad to hear we won't be losing you!  Sorry to hear you'll be losing your storage.   :'(
