Engine rebuild help please

I'm about to put the engine all back together, but I need to know how many of those metal rings are supposed to be on the crankshaft. Its hard for me to explain because I'm not sure what it does, but it looks like an extremely gapped piston ring that goes around the crankshaft. What concerns me is when I took it apart, only one came out, and there's 2 slots. Any help would be appreciated

Thanks so much, I tried to even look through the forum for previous discussions, but I dident know what to call it. Glad I waited till I got an answer, I had it in the completly wrong area.
