Oh Crud
« on: April 27, 2023, 07:38:08 AM »
Working on another sled - a 1989 that is generally in great shape and runs very well - at least most of the time.  Out on the lake, we can ride for an extended period and then the sled will just die like it has lost spark or has been starved of fuel.  After a few minutes of fussing the sled would start again and run fine for another half hour or so.

Finally got it into the shop and started to take a look at it and found crud, what looks like a half dozen or so little plastic particles floating around on the inlet side to the fuel valve.  Since everything else on the sled is checking out properly, I am presuming that by chance and happenstance these particles would eventually find their way to the fuel valve inlet when it is open and calling for fuel, plug the orifice, and starve the engine.

This one is getting a good cleaning and fresh filters, jets etc...
