check your coil, similar issues have come up for me and a new coil fixed them. usually its with heat it starts to crap out with the coil, but you never know.

That’s a good thought too.  Come to think of it, I’ve seen similar issues with the CDI box.

In the past when we have had spark coil issues, our experience has been that the sled will die and not restart until the coil cools down.  This sled had that issue when it first came in and it received a new coil at that time.

Or are you referring to the exciter or pulser coils?

I had one sled that would run good and strong until the temps under the hood increased, then the CDI box would start to change the timing curve and would loose power dramatically.  It wouldn’t “miss” but definitely wouldn’t perform.

I’ve had the same experience with coils, they either produce spark or they don’t.

Carbs are back on the sled.  All appeared to be in tact as the carbs were re-assembled.  Fired right up.  No apparent bubbles in any of the line.  Sometimes I feel like it runs too good to not run good.  At this point I may need to put it away for the summer and tackle this again the next time we have snow.

Sled is back in summer storage.  I will fuss with this one again in November.
