It has been a few years since I have had to pull a crank bearing, but since this sled had some bearing chatter on the PTO side bearing I decided to swap it out for a new one. Behind the bearing is a shim that appears to be too large for the location and looks like it can flop around and has polished the counterweight to show its flopping range.
Is this the correct shim for this location? If not, this engine has run for as long as I have owned it this way. If not, what shim is appropriate.
Appreciate any insights as I would very much like to get this powerplant put back together.
