Let's see how good you Kawi guys really are...Here is a picture of my sleeved and ported 4/6 LTD cylinders.  Can you see the problem?

i had a 1980 ltd brand new and it was a total turd, took it back to the dealer and the put new cylinders on it per kawasaki, turned it into rocket, went from getting killed by my friends 80 srx to spanking him, may be that was the issue.

you didn't want those extra ports anyway - they just get in the way of the piston!

I am going to say that you could have it re-sleeved but after the experience that I have had with sleeved cylinders the next time i do a rebuild i plan on going the route of re-plating.

The funniest part is that it was run this way! 

I would have replated them too.  I picked this 4/6 up as a basket case.  It was already sleeved and ported.  It came with one cylinder off, freshly honed and a NIB Wiseco piston.  I tore the motor down to replace the crank seals (found bad crank/rod bearings), this is when I noticed the ports, the cylinder with the missing ports was still installed on the motor. 

I'm going to drop the cylinder to my local sled shop tomorrow, they're going to cut the ports for me. 

Ported, Aaen pipes, studded track...  I bet this 4/6 is really going to fly!
