Repairing plastic belly pans.

 Has anyone successfully repaired small cracks in our plastic Kawasaki belly pans. I really do not want to replace mine with a fiberglass repop so I was thinking of removing the pan from my sled and bring it to a body shop, hoping it can be repaired with their plastic bumper epoxies. Has anyone done this?

I have had good luck with the following product for repairing small cracks.  This is the product that I use to "glue" the filler cap replacement necks also.  It has a fairly short open time and sets up hard but not too hard that it cannot be sanded.  Chances are the body shops are using a similar product.  I think I picked the gun and kits up at Amazon and it was reasonable considering the alternative.

Depending on the crack, I have used sheet metal and rivets, or used black zip ties to stitch it.

Thanks for the tip. That 3m product looks good. This is for a restoration on an Interceptor and if possible I want the pan to be perfect.

We found that the belly pan material responds well to PVC solvent.  Using this approach we have taken pieces from another bad belly pan to essentially glue a patch on the inside of the pan.  The outside we patch with body filler or icing, sand, prime, and paint.
