Crankshafts
« on: November 16, 2012, 07:48:11 AM »
Are all crankshafts in Invaders the same? 340, 440, 2plug, 4 plug, different years? I have a 4 plug crank from a 4/6 that is in real good shape that i would like to use in a 2 plug motor.

No problem. The 1978-1981  motors are the same, the mono-block motors were different but I believe they used the same cranks 340 and 440 had the same bottom end.

A lot of 340 motors were changed to 440 by repacing the cylinders, pistons, carbs, etc.

Not quite true.  there is a difference in the position of the thrust washers between the 78 and 79 and later cranks.
