Check your hood cable!!!

Hello thought I'd share what happened to me the other day.
Well I was cleaning up the sleds and getting ready to put back in storage.  Make long story short I was finishing up my 81 intruder440 and heard a tap noise and before I knew it  the hood dropped to the floor. Hood cable failed.   Didn't even have a chance to try and save it at all.  I sat there for about a half hr worried that the hood and windshield were trashed.  So I tip the hood back up and look at the damage.   After looking it over turns out windshield was only thing trashed and broke.  Could of been worse but still it was a kaw windshield hahaha.  My cable looked good on my sled and it broke.  So just thought I'd share this and pass on the advice and tell you to check yours !!    I'll never trust them cables again as I will have a safety rope just in case.                       
                                               Has this happened to anyone else??
