TC440D means it’s an 81-82 440 LTD motor. I’m confused by the “0000001”, the model identification section says the 82 serial numbers start at 17...

This is serial # on a prototype 530 Interceptor motor. No pat sticker or any numbers or letters other than the Xserial #. Ribs on cyls and Head are completely different than stock/factory run set of heads and cyls. Everything was marked 530 tho.

Welcome to the site!! It is not real uncommon to see 550 jugs on a 440 mono head bottom. Serial number 1 needs some further study.

Is this motor in a sled? If so, what are the numbers stamped on the right foot area of the tunnel?

Take a picture of the primary clutch and complete sled . Definitely a invader chassis cause of tool box and heat shield apparently is metal and homemade cause looks like it’s all rusty. Definitely 550 head in the picture.

The bottom end may be the 1st one.
The TC440D covered 81 and 82 LTD motors. The TC530D for the 550 is pretty much the same bottom. I have seen one other 550 stuffed into an Invader chassis and from what I heard it was plenty of farting around to get it to work. It would be a great "sleeper" sled.
