Does anyone have any brands and part numbers for a suitable rad cap and thermostat for an Invader.

Thanks

I have taken my original radiator cap into my local NAPA autoparts store and matched it up.  I couldn't get the exact psi rated cap, so I went with 1 psi higher.

I have never heard of a replacement thermostat, I have never seen, or heard of one go bad either...  Did you have one fail?  I'm sure I have a good used one if needed.

Do the thermostats ever fail open. Seems like I have a hard time warming up. Temp gauge only begins climbing if you leave it idling and/or drive around slowly. Soon as I hit some snow, the temp drops immediately. I thought the thermostat would be able to regulate the engine temps a little better.  If this is normal, let me know. Of course I will pull it out and take a closer look when I have the chance.

I just saw that rad caps and thermostat are on sale at Parts Source in Ontario so I thought I would grab some spares.

We have the NAPA part number at home for a 13 psi replacement cap.  Our invader runs cold when there is plenty of loose snow to keep the tunnel cool and runs hot when snow is hard packed.
Intruders:  1978, 1979, 1981 Custom (Pink)
Invaders:   1980 440
Projects:    1981 Invader 440

My 81' Invader acts the same way.  My 79' runs a little warmer because of the smaller heat exchanger.
