removing bushing from a ramp

I was able to purchase new ramp bushings for my Invader.  I then cut a 7/16" bolt at the shank to use as a punch.  Hammering the bushing didn't work.  So now I got my $1.99 cheaters on the see what is going on in there.  I decide to clamp the ramp in the vise and use my small capping chisel to cut a tiny groove to loosen things up.  I took one tap with the hammer and BING a crack appeared in the ramp.  NOT IMPRESSED!  So now my F ramp is ruined and I don't have a spare, and not sure how to remove the remaining ones!  Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

 i used a socket the size of the bushing and a larger one on the other side and used a vice as a press

I did the same as kawhead.  If you don't have a vise or a press, you can put a bolt thru the sockets instead. 

I always have trouble getting the new bushings pressed in without damaging them.  I found heating the ramp, and cooling the bushing before assembly helped.
