Middle of December 2015 and at my place in NW Wisconsin I see a lot of grass.  Good thing the 4 wheeler runs.

Not a single flake on the ground here.    :'(  I'm going shooting tonight to try to take my mind off the lack of snow.

I've been recreating the NW WI (Webb Lake and Minong) area my whole life.  I keep a weather journal...not to sound like a weather geek...but if history is any indication, whenever it doesn't snow 6"-8" by Christmas, then it will also not be enough snow for trails by mid-January.   Hec, forget about snow, this is the latest I've ever seen open water in NW WI.  Can't even ice fish, eh.

Strong El Nino years makes northern Iowa and MN, WI warmer than normal.  Warmer air holds more moisture.  If you look at the rain this month for MN, IA, WI area... if it were all snow it would be 4-6 feet in areas.

It's 27 and snowing in northern Michigan today.   ;D  But it won't matter, because it's supposed to be in the upper 40's and raining early next week.   :'(

Well, all or nothing!!  Still snowing like crazy out here and not gonna stop till tomorrow morning.  You should see the drifts!  Reminds me of the snowfall we used to get as a "kid".  Forecast calls for 18-24" this storm.   Even better...   more snow for Friday!  Yeee haaaa!

3 feet here in my area.

Trails are brown here in western Quebec. Haven't even gone out this year yet.  Wanna move closer to the arctic circle, but the wife's not too keen on that...
