81 Invader suspension swap
« on: January 29, 2015, 06:22:32 PM »
Is there a suspension from another sled that will fit under an 81 Invader? I heard an early Indy will with just a little modification. my original vari ride is all busted to pieces and missing parts, I will be riding this sled not showing it, so original is not that important.
TIA

changing to a different brand of suspension is always difficult, not impossible, but it helps if you have the 'donor sled' for measurements of the mounting holes.  watch the clearance on the front of the drive sprockets and the front of the tunnel.

I have seen some guys put a Polaris skid under a Kawi, but IMO it's not worth the effort on a sled with Vari-ride.  If I were you, I'd find a replacement Vari-ride and put in a gas shock.

 I have a 4/6 with a Polaris skid.

It was like that when I got it. Just have to drill some new holes and bolt it in.
