So I finally took my 79 Invader 40 on its maiden voyage yesterday after changing all the fluid and running with new plugs. To be sure the oil injection system was working I ran a small amount of premix in the gas just to be safe. Everything was going smooth and the sled was running great for about 1.5 hrs. We were on our way home off the lake and took a different route leading us up a decent sized hill that was rather steep. My friends 440 Intriguer made it up and just as I was about to make it to the top it bogged out and died. Checked fuel and tank was 1/4 fallout added about 3 gallons of non premix. checked for fuel going to carbs ok, new fuel line was just installed and no leaks to suck air. I removed the plugs and they were saturated with oil, cleaned off and tried to start. We only had 1 more good set & installed those with no luck as they were soaked again. Blew some ether in the chambers to dry up some oil and let it sit. I removed the left hand carb & fuel bowel. Their didn't seem to be anything wrong with it and it looked clean. Disconnected oil injection line & ended up getting the sled to run, ran it for a few minutes and everything seemed fine. I hooked the oil line back up to the pump and the sled ran for about 2 minutes and did the same thing. I didn't want to run with out the oil line on because by now most of my gas in my tank was not mixed. The only other issue was as I was riding the hill sideways the sled almost tipped to the left side once but I stuck my foot out and kept it from going over. What do you guys suggest, other than new plugs and non mixed fuel? Id like to utilize the oil injection but if their may be an issue and now its over oiling for some reason I could disconnect and just run pre mixed gas. Sorry for the novel but the thing ran great for over an hour.
