Wow, all good points, guys. I still see a fair number of '79 and '80 Invaders for sale....some fairly nice, some..
. not so good. Not very many '81's. The snowmobile biz was really starting to tank by 1981....and those '81's are cool as heck. Production #'s had to be way less for '81 models, I'm guessing.
I distinctly remember an '81 Invader for sale on Indianapolis Craigslist (bout an hour south of me) back in March or April of 2014....for $ 400 OBO. It looked to be in very nice shape...hood looked great, pleated seat looked perfect, and it was in running condition. Craigslist pics (heck, the entire ad) can be very deceiving, as we all know, but I was real close to pullin' the pin and going to look at it....but I didn't.
Now ur makin' me feel bad...
It was listed for 3 or 4 weeks, then it was gone...just like the song from the old "Hee-Haw" TV show...Buck Owens and the "Buckaroos". .."I searched the world over and thought I'd found true love, you met another, and "Poof" you were gone!"
Sorry, had a long day at work
. And, never mind, Tory, you're too young to remember that show, I'm sure....believe me, just as well.
...oh, well, no point in crying about "spilled milk".
