Interceptor Water Pump Rebuild
« on: July 09, 2015, 08:47:09 PM »
Anyone know if there are some internal seals in the water pump on these?  I'm guessing if so there isn't amywhere to get
New seals from.

I haven't seen any gaskets available...   even on ebay.   I've only had a few Invader pumps leak and frozen, but not common.    However, I've never had a pump "leak" on any Interceptor or LTD engines.  As long as the pump spins "freely" I'd use it as is.  Just my two cents.

There are 2 O-rings 92055-3013 and 92055-3014 + 2 gaskets 11009-3038 and 11009-3039......which don't come by too often for sale...

If you do decide to rebuild the pump make sure to look at the impeller shaft, they usually rust were the impeller meets the shaft. That part is not sold separately and you would need to buy a water pump assy...

Take care !

The rubber o rings should be fine to reuse.  You can always buy sheet gasket material and make your own (if you choose to replace).

While I have not disassembled a 550 pump, if the pump leaks or is questionable I would suggest sending it to the same place that rebuilds Invader pumps.  I believe that the name is the Flying Dutchman. I have not used him personally but one of our site members, Quadgoat, sent him a pump and I understand he was very pleased with the result.

I think I have a good used pump if you need one.
