What year invader do I have?
« on: February 22, 2016, 08:59:15 PM »
The motor tag shows TC440A-B201, tunnel shows SS440A-008567. Is this a 79? Thanks, Dan

Dan, if it says ss440A1 then it's a 1978  if it says ss440A2 then it's a 1979. Doug

Thanks for the response Doug! This is my first Kawasaki(I am a cat guy) so I wasn't really sure on the serial. I don't have a number (1,2,3) following the SS440A on the tunnel but the motor serial seems to be a 79 so I think I will register it as a 79. Thanks again!

My 79 Invader doesn't show the "A2" on the tunnel either....just SS440A-012***.....I forget the last 3 #s of the serial. :-\
At the back, right corner of the tunnel their are a couple labels....look there and see if it says "SS440A2", as mine does, or the other label shows the month/year of assembly....a fall 1978 date of manufacture would be a 79 model year.
75 SnoJet Astro SS, 79 Kawasaki Invader 440 (two of them), 81 Scorpion Sidewinder, 82 Blizzard 9500, 83 Yamaha Vmax 540, 97 MXZ 670....and holding...for now.

Sounds like a 78 chassis with a 79 motor.

The only info that I can read on the labels looks to be a build date in 1978. Thanks for all the input!
