« on: January 31, 2017, 11:03:47 AM »
Hello fellow sledders,

Looking for these NOS or excellent used Drifter parts: front bumper / hood steel mesh grille / NOS hood decals / NOS seat cover....

I know it's a long shot but you never know....

Thanks and enjoy what's left of winter !!!

Those are hard parts to find NOS.  I've restored two '79 340 Drifters and one '79 440 Drifter.  I don't believe you will ever find NOS decals.  Here are some links for those parts on Ebay.  The only one that is NOS is the grill.

Good luck and post some pictures if you can.

You're welcome!!  I don't know about the quality of those aftermarket decals.  I have a local buy that does sign work, decals, etc.  He did the decals on my 340's and did an excellent job.  See the attached picture.  You may want to explore that option in your area.  I haven't done a 440 hood yet as I am using the original hood for now.  I'm planning on doing a 440 hood this summer.

Thanks i will explore that option for sure since they're not complex decals...

Also, do you know if most parts are interchangeable (like the hood vent grill) from the 1979 to 1980 Drifters.....because i noticed the part numbers are really different...

PS Nice looking hood...!!! I can imagine the rest of the sled...congrats....

They used a lot of the same parts on the 1980 Drifter as the 1979 Drifter.  The grills were the same.  There are some differences here and there throughout the snowmobile.  However, most of the parts are the same for the two years.  The '79 Drifter parts manual used mostly Sno-Jet part numbers.  Use the 1980 part manual for known same parts.  The 1980 parts manual used Kawasaki part numbers.
