It may be running rich.  The stock intruder jetting changed from year to year.  We jet ours with 25 pilot, 150 main, and 120/130 econojet.

Also, check the little rubber "O" rings on the bottom of the needle jet.  If they are not sealing correctly they can leak excess fuel and cause the sled to run poorly.  Good at idle, but won't make power at higher throttle.

How's the engine temp after running for awhile? Do you let it warm up before putting it under a load?

after it bogs down does it have good spark to both plugs? Are plugs new?
I had an invader that would do what your sled is doing and traced it down to a coil that would quit when it got warm. Plugs will do that also.

I hear you about snow being gone.  We have been over 60 for the past week and anything that was left was wiped out by yesterday's thunderstorm.  Now is a good time to pull the engine apart to get ready for next year.

I have a 78 Intruder with the same issue. It's not a shortage of fuel because priming it while it bogs doesn't fix it, in fact floods it out completely. Let me know if you've solved the problem.
