Replacing in tank pick-up
« on: February 20, 2021, 01:58:10 PM »
What is the best way to replace the in tank pick-up hose? Went to inspect and it easily broke apart. Also is there supposed to be a check valve on the end of the in tank line?

Thanks.

Some use a rod thru the new line and aim it on the nipple and push.  I have used an arrow with an end cut out to fit the new line, line it up and push it on.  What I have on the other end of the fuel line is mostly a weight to keep it on the bottom of the tank.  A small person with skinny hands and arms might work also??

Oh I was afraid of that. I managed to get it about 75% on the barb with the new tube loosely zip tied to a long flat head. I wasn't confident  I looked at the parts diagram and it looks like the tank barbs are screw in fittings. I dare tried and it actually unscrewed and gave access to fit the new pick up line to the in tank hose barb.
