For the little riding I do, I use the oil that is available locally. Make sure it is rated for injection

I go for the cheap (economical) Wal-Mart $11 for a gallon.  I have yet to melt down a motor because of cheap oil.

No oil melt down, ya, once when the oil ran out before the tank of fuel.  Still a hard pill to swallow since it was my Ltd mono motor.  Does somebody have a spare crankshaft?

I am ready to try corn oil at $7/gal.  Will this smoke down the motor.  We'll see.  All cheap talk until I have to bitch ride back to the truck.

premium plus from mercury marine since i ran out of kaw oil in the 80s....as little as most of us use i'd say spend a little more....checkmarks, i've seen well over a dozen kaws over the years and several merc outboards [rotted feed lines] run out of oil, unusual to see crank damage, the top end sticks first...luck you :o
