Kawi Problem Pt 2

Well i bought a new used Circuit board and a voltage regulator. Still blows bulbs. So im going towards the lighting coil on my stator! :(. I hope its not too expensive for a stator for a intriguer!

If the coil is working, it's working... The regulator isn't wired correctly or isn't working... All it does is clip voltage off and get rid of the excess...

I wish I could be of more help! Is the regulator 1 wire or 2? If memory serves it connects to a single pin on the board and then to ground, sometimes the ground is though the hole in the middle of the regulator depending on the type you were given....

I wouldn't recommend spending money on a stator assembly if your engine is running good...

As long as you are getting a good strong spark your exciter coil is functioning as it should...

and the other part of your stator is the lighting coil which creates electric current for your headlight and other electric accessories...

I know for 100% certainty that if you're blowing bulbs and you have lights at idle your lighting coil is working great! The regulator however isn't functioning properly! It's sole purpose is to take the excessive amount of voltage that your lighting coil creates as the engine revs and clip that voltage off to a number the bulb can handle...

I've been working on sleds for 10 years and I'm an electrician, take it from me, you have a regulator issue or wiring issue!

Well I know i have the regulator hooked up right. But i'll check tomorrow. I wish ya lived closer then you could check it out lol

Do you have a multimeter?

How many wires does the regulator have and what color are they?

I am going to second everything cha chi is saying. Get a multi meter and find out what the regulator is doing. Unplug the light and plug in the meter and watch the output.

ChaChi is on the right track, it's most likely not your stator.  Make sure your voltage regulator has a good solid connection to the chassis ground.
