Modified 440 Invader jetting
« on: April 08, 2014, 09:13:32 PM »
I have a 80 440 invader, I'm putting on 4/6 cyls. that are sleeved and 1.5 oversized making it 455cc. also putting on 4/6 pipes with the original Invader carbs and airbox. Does anyone have any suggestions for a starting point for the jetting and clutching?? Thanks...

I'd start with the 4/6 jetting and clutching.  Maybe bump up the jet sizes one to compensate for the extra cc???

Does anyone know what the stock 4/6 jetting and clutching should be? I'm having troubles finding specs.

Primary Clutch has F ramps and a Black spring.

Carbs:

Pilot = 35
Main = 140
Econo Jet = 120
Needle Jet = P6
Needle = 6dh7 (position 3)

Thanks again for the help!! I'm suprised it calls for smaller jets than the Invader, but I guess that shows what I know!

Gix are you sure p-6 on the needle jet?

Seems like p-9 was the needle jet hence it appears to be leaner jets in the mid range if not for the p-9 providing more fuel than the p-6.

P-9 would explain why there are 10 p-6's in my tuning box.

Run the stock jetting.  A few more cc's make a very, very insignificant difference in the metered fuel.

P-6 is what the Kawasaki parts catalog has listed.
