What I do with all my sleds is take a 2 foot long piece 3/8 inch square stock aluminum or steel. Just make sure it is new and straight. I open up my secondary just enough to slip this square stock between the two faces in the lower portion of the secondary, just make sure it sits flat and not on a rivet. Now let the secondary close and pinch the square stock to keep it in place. The remainder of the square stock is positioned so it just sits on the bottom of the primary where the belt would sit.
From there measure the distance from front and rear edge of the fixed sheave of the primary, to the edge of the square stock. Measurements should be the same if engine and secondary are parallel to each other.
