ignition coil question
«

Can a ignition coil of a newer 1982 Intruder fan replace a older unit with the 2 separate coil/ignition?
I did this and am having trouble getting my voltage regulator to work.
Thanks -Matt

I have it in a 1982 John Deere Liquifire. I switched motors from a 1982 Intruder engine to a 1979 Intruder engine.

Did the 82 Liquifire have a separate coil and CDI? It should have had the combined CDI and coil. I am not sure if the Intruder one would work.
There are other options.
